Rhonda Baker

Artistic Director

 

Rhonda Baker is a five-time recipient of scholarships from the NS Talent Trust, and trained at the School of Toronto Dance Theatre where she worked with such notable artists as Peggy Baker, Sasha Ivanochko, James Kudelka, and Sharon Moore. Upon graduating in 2009, she had the pleasure of dancing in a solo creation by Sharon Moore entitled Nutshell.

 

For the past three summers, Rhonda has participated in the Springboard Danse Montréal workshop, dancing repetoire by Danièle Desnoyers, Andrea Miller and Sylvain Émard.

 

In Nov ’09 she was invited by Miller to perform with Gallim Dance in the Sportmax performance series, Re:MIXX, in New York City.

This past summer she performed at the National Arts Center for the Canadian premiere of Impermanence, choreographed by Guillaume Cote and Zdenek Konvalina.

 

Rhonda has been stretching her choreographic limbs and collaborating with Toronto based dance artist, Christine Birch on a work in progress entitled Clippings.

 

She currently dances with Coleman Lemieux & Compagnie
